What I ate last night

This is what I ate last night in Barbados:

Well, this isn't a pic of my actual plate of food, but I saw this picture in the LA Times just today in an article on Barbados and thought, oh shoot, that's exactly what I ate last night!!! Well I didn't have the Banks Beer (can't stand beer), but rather a Frutee and a Twist...if any of you can tell me in the comments section what a Twist is, I'll give you a Monif C. gift certificate!

Check out the article here. Love that Zagat is calling my little island the Culinary Capital of the Caribbean!

Isn’t a Twist like a malta beverage?

I believe a twist is a garnish made from a fruit peel!

I’m going with a malternative beverage.

No winners yet :-)

A twist is a lemony flavored shandy

That food looks BOMB!

a twist is a lemon flavored drink with a hint of beer. it is an alternative to hard alcoholic beverages

I have three more guesses lol…Rum, mojito, lime…

hey monif a twist is a lemon flavored flavored drink with just a splash of banks beer which makes it a nice fresh shandy drink.  It is preferred as an alternative to hard alcohol or liquor. It’s alcohol volume is 0.9%

Coretta, Isabelle, and Latashia are all right, but since Coretta was first :-), she’s the winner!  Email me at info (at) monifc dot com for your prize!

Twist Shandy is a lemon-flavored beverage with a hint of Banks Beer which produces a clean, fresh shandy drink. Twist enjoys popularity as a thirst quencher

I was thinking of looking up some of them newspaper websites, but am glad I came here instead. Although glad is not quite the right word… let me just say I needed this after the incessant chatter in the media, and am grateful to you for articulating something many of us are feeling - even from distant shores.
