I Love Gabourey Sidibe
Watched the Oscar's last night once ABC/Cablevision decided they wanted to let the NYC folks get their ABC back (:side eye:)...Oscar's boring as usual, but my girl Gabourey lit up the pre-show/red carpet!
I LOVE Gabourey...I love that she is so herself and is not allowing Hollywood to make her feel less than...those are Hollywood's bs standards, not hers, and it's very refreshing!
Check her out here hitting on Gerald Butler...she's right, he's yummy...I'd hit that too...
And what did you guys think about her dress? I'm not a huge fan of navy, but this dress fit her beautifully. If I had it my way, it would have been in a hotter/brighter color, but she still looks fab. What do you guys think?

I loved her last night! I knew Marchesa wouldn’t disappoint. They worked that gown, and her figure looked awesome! I loved her hair and everything about her last night.

This dress DID fit her beautifully—the best I’ve seen on her.
Actually, I heard that she, Mariah Carey, Mo’nique and Sherri Shepard all wore blue in honour of Hattie McDaniel, the first African American women to win an Oscar. Hattie McDaniel wore a blue dress with a flower in her hair on Oscar night and Mo’nique wore the same.
So, while I would have loved to see better colors, I can’t hate on the nod to Ms. Hattie : )
And it’s interesting—both she and Mo’nique definitively plus-sized women BOTH wore high level designer pieces. There’s a real argument for the idea that true couture can’t be anti-plus size because it’s custom made for any measurements.
